CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Position: Chief Internal Auditor
Location: Lahore, Pakistan
LESCO, a state-owned enterprise responsible for supplying electricity to over 6.62 million consumers in the Lahore region, is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and result-oriented professional to join as Chief Internal Auditor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the internal audit function and ensure access to financial records, reporting to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
- Evaluate accounting, financial, credit, and operational activities as part of an independent appraisal function.
- Ensure the effective management of financial resources and operational controls.
- Supervise audit programs to review all aspects of financial transactions.
- Provide recommendations for improving internal processes, ensuring compliance, and mitigating risks.
- Lead and develop an effective internal audit team.
- Liaise with external and commercial auditors.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Membership with a recognized professional accounting body.
- 10 years of relevant experience in audit, risk management, and internal controls, ideally in public/private sectors or state-owned enterprises.
- Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of financial, operational, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with senior management and board-level interactions.
Qualifications:
- A professional qualification in accounting and finance.
- In-depth understanding of audit functions in ERP environments and risk management systems.
- Fit & Proper Criteria compliance as per the State-Owned Enterprise Act, 2023.
Remuneration & Contract Period:
- Market-based competitive salary.
- The initial contract will be for 3 years, extendable based on performance.
